Dental implant

Also known as a dental anchorage, the dental implant is a sort of root embedded in the jaw bone on which the surgeon will lodge a fixed prosthesis. The goal here is to replace the missing teeth.

The procedure

At Tunisia Health Care, we carry out dental implant procedures. First of all, local anesthesia is performed in the area to be treated for isolation purposes. Subsequently, an incision is carried out on the gum, where the bone is pierced with a drill and the dental prosthesis inserted.

The said implant is fixed or embedded in the bone before being covered with stitches. The healing or recovery period varies from one individual to another and can range from 6 weeks to 6 months.

Dental stay in Tunisia

To carry out your dental implant surgery in our clinic in Tunisia, it is necessary to plan several trips: a first trip to insert a tentative implant and a second one to fix the final prosthesis. The duration of your stay will depend on the number of implants to be inserted. All information is provided when your budget is estimated.

Post-operative care

Minor pain may be experienced soon after the surgery and for a few days. If necessary, the doctor prescribes analgesics and antibiotics. However, ice packs are also beneficial to the treated zone after the procedure.

A dental implant surgery does not require hospitalization. Indeed, a patient can resume his activities the next day after the procedure has been conducted. Concerning diet, it is generally recommended to engage in liquid or soft meals during the first week.
