Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery)

Without a doubt, eyes are the mirror of the soul. That is why their beauty must be enhanced. It may happen that, over time, the eyelids fall and lose their tone. In such a case, blepharoplasty is the right solution.

The intervention

Blepharoplasty is an aesthetic eyelid surgery. It consists of correcting aging signs in the eyes. Like all the other types of surgery that we offer, this one is not intended to change your appearance, but to improve it and restore radiance to your eyes, rejuvenate them.

Through this procedure, the doctor gets rid of fat pockets under your eyes, heavy and drooping eyelids. Our surgeons ensure that you receive satisfactory and natural results. To this end, they are precise in the intervention to avoid any type of correction.

During the procedure, skin incisions are made in the crease of the eye. For the lower eyelid, it is hidden inside, under the lashes. In the case of the upper eyelid, the incisions are made between the fixed part of the upper eyelid and the movable part.

Even if it can be performed on its own, blepharoplasty is generally associated with other facial surgeries (such as facelift), for a more satisfactory result.

Duration

Depending on the number of eyelids to be treated, the procedure can be performed in 30 minutes or can take up to 1 hour.

Anesthesia

Generally, blepharoplasty is performed under local anesthesia under sedation. However, according to the surgeon’s instructions, it can be performed under general anesthesia.

Recovery

During the very first days after the surgery, the doctor will recommend rest. Pain is not severe, although it is possible to feel slight tensions. They normally disappear after a week and the patient is able to resume with his day-to-day activities.
